Where the land breathes again, the embers linger.
The Australian landscape is defined not just by its vastness, but by its cycle of destruction and rebirth. "Embers of the Landscape" captures the raw, kinetic energy of the fires that swept through our bushland—the intense heat, the suffocating smoke, and the haunting beauty of the charred remains.
Yet, amidst the black and grey, there is life. This collection explores the moment the fire subsides and the earth begins to cool. It is a tribute to the resilience of nature, painted in deep ochres, charcoal blacks, and the flickering copper of hope that remains in the ashes.

After the Fires
Silence falls heavy on the scorched earth. The vibrant greens are replaced by a stark, monochromatic palette of ash and charcoal. Yet, in this devastation, there is a sculptural beauty—the skeleton of the landscape revealed. This series documents the quiet dignity of the burnt land before the green returns.
A Study in Warmth
To capture the heat, I moved away from cool tones, embracing a palette of deep blacks, burnt siennas, and fiery oranges. Layers of textured impasto mimic the rough bark of scarred trees, while glazes of copper and gold catch the light, representing the embers that glow long into the night.
Created in the Studio, Lived in the Home.
While born from the raw intensity of fire, these pieces are designed to bring warmth, grounding, and a sense of history into your sanctuary. The earthy tones harmonize with natural materials—timber, stone, and linen—creating a focal point that is both dramatic and deeply calming.
